Every chassis is engineered to the imaging modality, the OEM service envelope, and the climate of the coach’s home base. Vibration, RF interference, weight distribution, and access ergonomics are designed in, not bolted on later.

A ground-up custom mobile imaging trailer is built in stages from spec to delivery. MRI 3T and PET / PET-CT builds take longer than MRI 1.5T and CT builds due to the additional shielding and integration requirements. The timeline includes route engineering, chassis fabrication, suite shielding, OEM integration, vibration tuning, and acceptance testing. The schedule depends on the modality, shielding, and integration scope.

Mansa Mechanical builds custom modular MRI trailers (both 1.5T wide-bore and 3T high-field), custom mobile CT trailers (8-slice and above), and custom mobile PET and PET-CT coaches with radiopharmaceutical handling and hot-lab integration. We can build around both new and used equipment.

Yes. Our build process is OEM-agnostic. We integrate magnets, CT gantries, and PET rings from the major imaging brands and coordinate with the OEM service rep for calibration and acceptance. We have built coaches around Siemens, GE, Philips, and Canon imaging hardware. Tell us the platform on your request and we will scope the integration envelope.

A new build is a ground-up fabrication with a chassis spec’d to your specific route, with full OEM integration. A refurbished used coach is a pre-owned trailer torn down and rebuilt to OEM specification. New builds give you a coach engineered to your route. Refurbished coaches give you faster time to revenue with a known performance floor.

Custom mobile imaging trailer pricing varies by modality, shielding requirements, chassis class, and integration scope. The trailer fabrication itself is a six-figure investment. The imaging hardware (magnet, detector, gantry) is procured separately through the OEM and is typically the largest line item in the total project cost. Chassis selection is platform-specific. Modular MRI 1.5T builds use wide-bore-class trailers tuned for magnet weight and vibration. Modular MRI 3T builds use reinforced trailers with active vibration isolation and acoustic-rated control rooms. We do not use off-the-shelf chassis: every trailer is engineered to the modality and the route.

Yes. Every coach we build meets DOT commercial vehicle standards for the trailer class. Annual DOT inspection is included in our preventive maintenance plans. Brake systems, ABS, hydraulic lifts, and chassis welds are inspected and documented during build acceptance and on the annual PM cycle.

Yes. Every new build comes with a preventive maintenance plan tied to scan volume and route mileage. Service & Repair coverage starts the day the coach is accepted. The same engineers who build the coach own the service plan, so build work and service work go through one number.

Yes. We handle DOT-compliant delivery of every new build to your clinical home base, including permits and chase vehicles. Storage & Logistics also covers ongoing coach relocation between sites, refurb cycles, and seasonal routes.
